Itinerary

DAY 1: CUSCO - KILOMETER 104 - WIÑAYHUAYNA - AGUAS CALIENTES

Our trip starts early in the morning. After arriving at KM 104 by train, the Royal Inca Trail begins with an excursion to Chachabamba (2270m/7448f), where our guide will tell us about this archaeological site. From then on, we will reach Wiñayhuayna (2650m/8694f), the most important archaeological site besides Machu Picchu. Then the road continues to the Sun Gate “Inti Punku”, a pleasant viewpoint from which we can enjoy the sunset over Machu Picchu (2400m/7874f). we will also enter the upper part known as circuit 1 from where we can take classic photos with the background of Huayna Picchu; To continue our tour in the direction of our hotel in Aguas Calientes, we will only spend a short time in the sanctuary of Machu Picchu during the first day

DAY 2: AGUAS CALIENTES - MACHU PICCHU - CUSCO

Guided Tour of Machu Picchu

After our breakfast at the hotel, we will head to the station to take the bus that will take us to the impressive Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu.

Upon arrival, we will meet our professional guide, who will accompany us to the strategic viewpoints to capture the classic panoramic photographs that will make this memory unforgettable.

We will begin a guided tour of approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes through the most important and emblematic sectors of Machu Picchu. Our guide will offer us an immersion in Inca history and architecture, highlighting relevant places such as:

  • The Temples (Temple of the Sun, Main Temple).
  • Los Palacios (Royal Palace).
  • The Intihuatana.

Once the visit is over, we will have free time before descending by bus to the town of Aguas Calientes. Here we will have time to enjoy a well-deserved lunch.

Finally, we will head to the station to board our return train, which will take us to the Sacred Valley station. From there, a comfortable bus will take us back to the city of Cusco, concluding an unforgettable day.
